Vascular Diagnostics

Is your vascular lab accredited?

Yes. Our vascular laboratory is IAC-Certified (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission), reflecting the highest standards in diagnostic vascular imaging and quality assurance.

We offer a full range of non-invasive vascular diagnostics, including:

  • Ultrasound vein mapping
  • Carotid ultrasound screening
  • Peripheral arterial testing
  • Venous reflux studies

Vein Care & Varicose Veins

How do I know if I have varicose vein disease?

Common signs include:

  • Aching or heavy legs
  • Swelling in the legs or ankles
  • Visible varicose or spider veins
  • Nighttime leg cramping
  • Skin discoloration or irritation

A vascular ultrasound is often used to confirm the diagnosis.

While often not life-threatening, untreated varicose vein disease can worsen over time and may lead to complications such as skin changes, ulcers, or blood clots. Early evaluation allows for more effective treatment.

Symmetry Vascular Center offers comprehensive, minimally invasive vein treatments, including:

  • Endovenous laser ablation (EVLT)
  • Radiofrequency ablation
  • Sclerotherapy
  • Varithena® foam therapy
  • Microphlebectomy
  • In-office venography

Most treatments are performed in-office with little to no downtime.

No. Spider veins typically require cosmetic treatments such as sclerotherapy, while varicose veins often require treatment of underlying venous reflux. Your provider will recommend the most appropriate approach.

Arterial Disease & Stroke Prevention

What is Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)?

PAD occurs when plaque builds up in the arteries of the legs, reducing blood flow. Symptoms may include leg pain while walking, cramping, numbness, or slow-healing wounds.

Carotid artery disease can progress without symptoms and is a major cause of stroke. Early screening with carotid ultrasound helps detect narrowing before serious complications occur.

Treatment may include:

  • Lifestyle and medication management
  • Minimally invasive endovascular procedures
  • Surgical intervention when necessary
  • Ongoing imaging and follow-up care

All treatment plans are personalized to each patient’s condition and health goals.
