Dr. Kapland Owens, MD, is a vascular surgeon at Symmetry Vascular Center, bringing advanced training in both open and endovascular techniques along with a strong academic and leadership background.
Originally from Fort Myers, Florida, Dr. Owens earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida before completing his medical degree at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He went on to complete his Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 2025, where he served as Chief Resident.
During his training, Dr. Owens was recognized for his clinical excellence and academic achievement, including receiving the Warren L. Gottsegen Award for Outstanding Vascular Surgery Resident and the Vascular Surgery In-Service Training Exam Award. He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, including work published in the Journal of Vascular Surgery, and remains actively engaged in advancing the field.
Dr. Owens has a broad clinical interest in vascular surgery, including peripheral arterial disease, aneurysmal disease, carotid artery disease, and hemodialysis access. He is certified in RPVI and TCAR, reflecting his expertise in advanced vascular imaging and minimally invasive carotid intervention.
Now practicing on the Treasure Coast, Dr. Owens is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and contributing to the continued growth and excellence of Symmetry Vascular Center.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Meredith, and their son, Luke.
